When
on the view of teams and players where a "face" shows beside the
player's name, highlight that player and use the edit menu option of "Swap xxxx to..."
Swap them with a substitute. Or, there's a menu choice of "Permanently replace xxx with ...." Replace the player and place him on the sub roster,.

what if you don't have a substitute to swap with
I need to move an active player to the sub list. I've tried the "Swap
xxx to another position or team" method and the "Drag & Drop"
method. Neither works. How do I move an active player to the sub list?
- This is a permanent change, so I highly recommend making a backup before you proceed. Please see Backup and Restore - for data safekeeping.
- Click once on the regular player to be replaced to highlight the player.
- Go up to the Edit menu and select "Permanently replace ____ ______ with another player."
- Put the dot on "Permanently replace ____ ____ with a current SUBSTITUTE player."

what i found that worked for me is I highlighted the player that you want to move, and go into the edit tab, high light swap player with another. when the dialog box comes up go to options, and then it gives an option to move him to the sub list.

Thanks for the suggestions. Before I read this post I took the long way around and removed the player from the new league I was creating and re-transferred him from the old league into a sub position in the new league.
